This photo shows the currency of a little-known place called Transnistria, officially termed the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The thing is, this republic broke away from the country of Moldova but hasn't, as of yet, been recognized as an independent country. This has led to quite a bit of trouble on all fronts. One of those, naturally, is the nation's currency, which, as you can see, consists of plastic chips.
The nation's actual currency is composed of plastic chips. Now isn't that something? We just hope they've figured out a system to ensure people can't make fakes.
